Taking care of young and aged People

We are concerned that older people living alone or with young dependents are among the most at risk following the huge earthquake. Older men and women may be unable to access essential items due to mobility problems.

In our distributions, we are working to ensure that old and children who are sleeping without shelter and are in dire need of food are getting our emergency supplies.

Without shelter, children and their families are left to sleep in the cold and the rain, leaving them vulnerable and at risk of future health problems…

Older people bear the initial brunt of disasters as they are unable to flee. The physical decline that comes with ageing, including poor mobility and hearing, will mean older people are extremely vulnerable. Especially if they are caring for small children or live alone

At the moment, the needs of old and children are among our top priorities in distributing aid which are being organized by our well established local partner.
